Begonia ‘Sylvan Triumph’
Begonia ‘Sylvan Triumph’ is a very old cane-like hybrid created by Praetorius in 1940 in Florida. It is said to be a seedling of the Asian species B. diadema. The leaves are dark green with lots of silver spots, so many that the leaf has a white or silver appearance. It is an upright grower but needs support when it gets over 2 ft. tall. The flowers are pink and hang in medium sized clusters. The test of a good variety is how long it has been in cultivation. This is a very easy begonia to grow and has been in cultivation for more than 70 years.
