Begonia U660
This beautiful rhizomatous begonia is thought to be from China. This species was once distributed under the name of B. cirrosa, but it is not that species and now goes by the American Begonia Society’s unidentified species number U660. The oval shaped leaves are a medium green with a puckered texture and covered with short white hairs. The back of the leaf is light green also covered with short white hairs that feel fuzzy. An average leaf is 4 x 5 inches. It has a compact growth habit. The flowers appear above the foliage and are light pink and white. It likes to get dry between waterings.
